Located 15 minutes from Grand-Mere, the Parc National de la Mauricie is a 536 km2 National Park of Canada located in the Mauricie region of Quebec.
Its mission is to protect a representative sample of the Canadian Shield. Nestled in the Laurentian Mountains, it is part of Parks Canada’s system of parks and historic sites, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2011 as the first official national park system in the world.
The Mauricie National Park offers several recreational activities:

It offers an impressive 160 km of hiking trails, all accessible from the road promenade that runs through the park from side to side.
And then there are the Waber Falls, the famous Waber Falls that everyone is talking about and must visit absolutely. It will take you a good and beautiful day for this getaway but it is definitely worth it if you are at the Park. To go there, you will go through all the activities, such as hiking, canoeing, portage, then re-hiking to finally admire the falls and swim, have a picnic. Then back way back to return to the start.
